Acupuncture is far more than a technique of inserting tiny thread-like needles along meridians (energy channels of the body). These are the roadways through which your body's energy flows. Acupuncture is a complex system of diagnosis that views the person as a whole. Acupuncture is practiced based on discerning the pattern of disharmony and treating accordingly. Modern acupuncturists utilize other modalities such as herbal medicine, Moxibustion, Tuina, Guasha, physical exercise, nutrition, meditation, breathing exercise and other techniques to offer the best possible treatments to their patients. Acupuncture is the insertion of hair-fine needles into the skin and body tissues. Thin needles are inserted into any one or more of a number of acupuncture points (there are over 350 acupuncture points in the human body) for the purpose of stimulating a physiological response. Acupuncture is a primary health care modality that has been around for at least 2000 years and is used widely throughout the world. Acupuncture is considered safe and effective.

Expect your physician to provide a complete information gathering session including an inspection of your tongue (do not brush or clean your tongue before treatment). The acupuncturist will feel your pulses to ascertain any imbalances that may be present. Dr Said will ask you unusual questions about bodily functions and about life style all which can have an impact on your treatment plan. Please make sure you have eattenprior to you treatment and at least an hour before arriving to your appointment and bring any medications/herbs/vitamins you are taking.
